□ Name: Allen Walker

□ Journal: thegraywalker

□ Series: D.Gray-Man (Manga)

□ Canon point: Chapter 210 just before he is caught by Kanda and Johnny.

□ History: Background for himself and his canon courtesy of the Wiki.
□ Personality: If Allen were to be assigned a color for his personality spectrum, it would have to be a light gray. He has plenty of good aspects but a fair number of more dubious and darker ones as well. This will be explained step by step in the below sections.

White:

On the surface, Allen is an extremely polite and friendly young man. Due to his upbringing with Mana, he has certainly learned the social skills befitting of a young gentleman. He can act in a civilized manner towards anyone he meets for the first time. However, that is subject to change depending on further interactions. A prime example of this is Allen's first encounter with Kanda. Even though the man had just tried to kill him, Allen was still willing to shake hands since they would work together in the future.

He is kind, compassionate and mostly a person who cannot help but try to help anyone he sees in need of assistance. This also applies to people who were enemies only moments before, as he demonstrated when he wanted to take Tyki Mikk with him after he thought he exorcised the Noah. He thinks all humans deserve to live. This belief also extended to some non humans as well such as the living doll named Lala.

Allen has a strong sense justice as well so he always makes sure wrongdoers get punished for their actions. He also cannot forgive those who take advantage of the suffering of others and will not hesitate to crush and punish them. One such example can be seen in his reverse novel when Allen encounters one of the Earl’s Broker’s. They are people who cause tragedies for the Earl to use to make AKUMA. Allen almost strangled the man with his Innocence hand at that time.

Allen hates sacrifices. Even though he is a fighter in a merciless war, he strives to prevent innocent sacrifices as much as possible. This also means that he feels his failures that much more. In his words, he "wants to be a destroyer that can save" Because of this, he tends to jump in, head first, into danger with little regard for his own well being. Though that aspect of his has improved since the literal bitch-slap from Lenalee, back in the Rewinding Town, he will still push himself beyond his limits to fight and to protect those in need. When his body is beaten beyond measure and his ability to move out of the question, he will use that undying determination to keep going, even if it means using his own Innocence to operate himself like a puppet.

Despite being friendly and caring towards those he meets, there are very few who he really opens up to even if that usually happens without him realizing it. He is also never the one to start a conversation unless he has to. On the other hand, if others approach him he will humor them if he does not have a bad history with the person in question. So while he may engage in friendly chatter with anyone who may approach him, he is in fact on his guard and quite likely getting a read on the person he is speaking to. The only people he truly drops his guard around, are those he considers trustworthy such as Johnny and especially Lenalee who seems to have the ability to read into his real thoughts, an ability that no one else around him has had before which makes it something he can never get used to.

Allen is someone who takes his work very seriously since he has worked in countless hard labor jobs from a very young age, all for the sake of paying his master's monstrous debts. He takes his work as an Exorcist even more seriously due to his personal goal to save both humans and the souls of the AKUMA. He is a devoted comrade to most of the other Exorcists. Yes that does include Kanda as well even if he is more likely to exchange verbal sniping with the man when not fighting the enemy.

In fact his dedication to the war and the AKUMA have given him quite the dependency. He believes that his only purpose is to be an Exorcist, a living human weapon with the power to save humans and to release the souls enslaved inside the AKUMA. Because of that, he has a hard time picturing a normal life. Even though he is pretty self-adjusted he sees himself as a soldier first before anything else. He can adapt to a more peaceful environment but for that he needs outside support. The war has also left him little to no time to think about relationships, though he does have a vague understanding of romance. Sadly he fails to apply that to himself so he still is a bit dense in that aspect.

Allen is not someone who is ashamed to show his emotions. If he feels like crying he will cry. If he feels angry you will know it by the feeling of his boot in your ass or head, he's not picky. The only time he will hide his emotions is when he knows that showing them would sadden his friends. Because of that, Allen can smile even in the darkest times. If it's for the sake of others then he will smile even if the situation is not one to smile about.

He has a very high level of pride and usually does not allow any insults go unanswered. It was also this pride that had him fight off becoming one of the zombies after he got bit by the Matron (another of the disasters brought about by supervisor Komui’s work). You could argue that pride is also a factor in his resisting the 14th's takeover. It is still on a lower level than his desire to keep his friends safe but it IS there.

Despite this, Allen is a humble person and will most of the time, pass his deeds off as something anyone would do in his position. He does not boast his successes in ways that belittle others. Unless you are someone he does not get along with or if it is about poker. That's when the card demon takes over. At that point you are better off running before he strips you naked in poker. Though it seems even then he has scruples and refuses to do such things to those of the female gender as stated in an interview where he answered that the only ones who would win against him would be Lenalee and Lala since he would cheat to lose.

He is also very adaptable as long as he has the skills required to do so. He also learns from his mistakes, at least the mistakes that don't contradict his beliefs and oaths. Which are many so it is possible to argue that he doesn't learn at all. Even his oaths and way of living can suffer slight alterations, but he can never give up on any of them entirely. This applies to his self sacrificing behavior and the desire to save others, as well.

I've spoken quite a bit about his positive white aspect while hinting at a more darker one. Time to move on to the deeper hidden side of Allen Walker.

Black:

There is no lie in saying that Allen is a goody two shoes and a big softy most of the time. But these were things that were only added to who he already was. His experiences forged him into such a young man. But not all of his experiences were positive. In this section I will speak of his less positive traits.

Allen at the very deepest core, is a rude, sarcastic sometimes vicious and almost cynical brat. This was most evident prior to him being adopted by Mana. He knows the darker aspects of this world all too well. He is no naive child when it comes to knowing how rough life is on the streets and in the underground world. He is also familiar with most of the vices the lesser known side of cities have to offer. This is mostly due to having traveled with Cross for five years all around the world. Brothels, gambling joints, bars, he knows his way around all of these after being exposed to all of Cross' vices. Even so he did not take them as his own. In fact he uses them as reference as to what not to do. All except gambling which unfortunately, he had to learn in order to live and pay off those unearthly debts. Then there is alcohol. After a certain incident involving chocolates with alcohol in them and his master finding out he ate them, he developed a rather intense dislike if not fear of alcohol.

He has no qualms in using his colorful insult collection on those who really piss him off. Few get that far. Kanda takes the top of the list on that with his Master a close second. He also possesses quite the snide attitude towards such people. Because of this he has no hesitation to take them down a peg or two in indirect, direct or shameless ways.

Sometimes he even uses this playfully such as belittling Lavi's maturity or calling his watcher, furniture. On the other hand, he has never shown to do this towards any females.

Allen is not one to play by the rules. He will use any dirty trick he can pull if it means he can win. Any opening he sees in his opponent, he takes. If there are no openings, then he will make some by any means necessary. He is not below acting like he is cornered for a moment and then turning the situation around using some move from the opponent's blind spot. Those stupid enough to turn their back on him for even a moment risk to find themselves attacked and possibly defeated. This also applies to poker where he is a virtual god at cheating and getting away with it, all with the most pristine smile and unbreakable poker face imaginable.

Despite being dense about romance, Allen has shown to be quite aware of the charm he has in his arsenal. That is if he is desperate enough or the situation demands it. One such example was when he *Seduced* one of Komui's robots into opening the door and getting ultimately destroyed because of that.

This relates to another trait. He has a manipulative side but he is very selective with it, only bringing it into play when he deems it is appropriate. This is usually aimed at those who have really managed to push his buttons too far or who are just generally more stupid than him. After living in the streets for much of his life, it is only natural for him to know how to cause infighting among thugs or others such similar elements of society.

His time with Cross has also created in Allen a bit of a ruthless persona which manifests under certain specific trigger conditions. One of them is poker. He will destroy his opponents. He is proud of this. Challenge him at your peril. Another trigger is the topic of debts. This mere word carries enormous trauma for the boy and causes him to go into Black Mode as it is called. This mode is usually accompanied by an aura of doom which causes many to quite literally freak out when exposed to it and question what on earth Allen has gone through to make him so warped. The last trigger is on a bit of a case by case basis. Simply getting in his way. This was discovered by Bak Chan himself when Allen resorted to blackmail in order to get the man to let him return to the battlefield.

He does have a rather strong tendency towards taking the blame for letting bad things happen though this has somewhat changed since joining the Black Order.

The Fall

Since he has been revealed to carry the Memory of the 14th Noah known as Neah, Allen has shown some changes in response to that. Even though he was taught by Lenalee during the Rewinding Town mission to not fight on his own and keep thing on the inside, Allen has subtly closed himself off towards his comrades. This only became worse after the appearance of the Apokryphos: A sentient Innocence which apparently was also the Guardian to the Heart. Despite hating his past with his teacher, Allen showed for the first time a sense of pride at being Cross Marian’s apprentice just as the Apokryphos was about to take him into itself.

Allen’s insecurities have come to the surface since he unexpectedly reunited with Kanda and Johnny. While he does indeed believe that keeping away from everyone is for their own sake, he is still afraid of being alone. This has became even more difficult to bear ever since his apparent attempt on Johnny’s life when Neah took over his body for a short while. He doesn’t have any memory of the event and it only serves to make the fear of what can happen should he lose to the Noah within that much more real. Even so he still harbors the dangerous curiosity towards Neah’s past, not knowing that this is a means for Neah to assert his control over Allen’s body even more with each occurrence.

Aside from that, Allen has reverted quite a bit to his more brattier origins since leaving the Order. Though it is very likely that this is only a coping mechanism or a front he puts up to conceal the dark thoughts and insecurities he carries inside of him every day. It also seems he has thrown himself into his part time work as a circus clown while moving from town to town in an attempt to evade his relentless pursuers.

His trust towards those who are not his best friends, has also seemingly taken a bit of a hit. While he still has shown to help those in need (such as when a young girl was captured by the AKUMA that had tracked him down during his performance ) he no longer makes any lasting bonds, living up to his adoptive father’s words to keep walking and never stop. Even without the Apokryphos, he had started to have some doubts after he learned that Mana, his adoptive father was Neah’s brother. This made him question sometimes if he was truly the one receiving Mana’s affections or if they were directed at Neah.

He has also grown much more attached to Timcampy since he was there for him throughout his worsening situation. As such he may feel more than a little lost once he realizes his golem and current best friend has gone missing.

□ Age: That's a bloody pickle. Theoretically his body is at the very least older than 35. However he looks 16 bordering on 17. Sucks having a mysterious background really.

□ Gender: Male

□ Appearance:

He is a young man with white hair standing at 174 cm (5'8 1/2") tall. Among remarkable features there is his pentagram scar marking the left hand side of his face. His eyes are silver-grey in color. His build is lean but athletic. His torso is marred by a collection of scars he’s picked up over his life as an exorcist. The biggest one was actually self inflicted when he tried to use his sword of exorcism to stab an AKUMA that was pinning him against a wall. He didn’t expect the blade to affect him and it has since left a visible mark. His most recent scar actually comes from Kanda Yu who during the North American Branch incident, stabbed him in his madness when Allen tried to stop him from attacking Alma Karma.

His left arm is deformed and unnatural since it also happens to be his parasitic weapon. The tone of the skin is black the color of obsidian and it ends in a strange tattoo like brand right under his shoulder.

Fashion sense wise he is fairly simple bordering on conservative. His definition of casual wear is comprised of a pair of black pants, black shoes or boots. To complement that he wears a simple white cuff shirt over which he dons a black vest. As a final touch he also usually wears a red bow tie. He also wears white gloves both hands mostly because he tends to conceal his left hand since the public has not reacted positively to it in the past before he joined the Order. Here is a picture for reference.

□ Abilities/Powers:

Despite his appearance, Allen is a very versatile and relentless fighter. It doesn't matter if the opponent is a Noah, a giant combined AKUMA or the Earl himself. He will fight till the very last moment. His weapon, the Crown Clown is also well adapted for this purpose. In the field of pure physical combat, he is a close quarters fighter. His left arm, when activated, turns into a sleek black metallic claw. The nature of the Innocence is supposedly divine according to the church (even though the things it does hardly help that claim), thus granting him not only increased strength in said arm but also a enhanced effectiveness against AKUMA. In Panfandom RP's this can expand to encompass most dark or evil creatures. That is not to say it cannot harm humans. Quite the contrary. In this mode Allen can easily combat human opponents. Because of this, Allen calls it the Edge or Crown Clown's Edge.

He is agile and nimble due to his experience as a circus performer. The war has only sharpened his dexterity even further. He also has very quick reaction time. So fast that he can catch large projectiles that are fired at him, with his Innocence Claw. This usually applies to ordinance at least the size of a normal cannon shell. Projectiles fired from smaller weapons are dealt with by his Innocence cape.

His right arm, the human one, also has significant destructive physical force as Allen demonstrated when he tried to punch Komui in the face and instead ended up denting the metal clipboard completely. It was also shown that Allen works out using his right arm mostly since his Innocence arm is already stronger than any normal human’s even when deactivated.

He has moderate skill with swords however is no match of experts in the field. As such he mainly uses a mix of martial arts learned the Guardian of the Asia Branch - during his recuperation and attempt to regain his Innocence - and outright dirty fighting and brawling.

He is ambidextrous thanks to his time as a circus performer. It's surprisingly convenient given his role as the Musician of Noah's Ark. The countless hours of performances he has done during his time as a performer, have honed his physique and mind thus bestowing him amazing physical and mental stamina. Performing in front of a crowd is second nature to him and his smile can stay in place for hours on end during such times. The various tricks he learned during his childhood in the circus have also given him enhanced body balance and hand-eye coordination making him highly skilled in gymnastics, acrobatics and juggling.

Another skill is gambling. At first Allen learned to play cards and poker as an exercise to restore the mobility of his left arm since he almost completely lost the ability to use it at all after his first activation. But that changed when Allen was made to face his master's debt collectors. He became a vicious poker demon who never turns down a challenge and could win against anything walking this planet. He even stripped a Noah even though neither of them had an idea who the other person was. As such his poker skills were developed primarily with financial reasoning. Because of this he relies *Heavily* on cheating. To back up this kind of lifestyle, Allen has perfected the technique of Poker face to the level of an art form. Added to that are his high level cheating techniques that very few can even hope to catch a glimpse of let alone catch him in action. Since joining the Order his gambling streak has not manifested all that often but when it does it makes it disturbingly clear just how cruel and terrifying he can be.

Aside from this he knows lock-picking, has excellent night vision and surprising skill in dealing with finances. All of these honed to the highest form thanks to Cross's debt collectors hounding them every step of his journey with Cross.

He also has a ridiculously high pain tolerance as he has shown recently when he got his leg crushed and still stood up to fight.

He is a glutton. Because of the high energy consumption of the parasitic Innocence, he eats inhuman amounts of food in very little time. He will literally eat you out of house and home.

Let us now move on to his Innocence abilities.

Edge

The Claw is not the only component of Allen's activated Innocence. In addition to that, he gains a white cape made of the same material his Clown Belt is made off. Attached to the cape is a cowl with an intricately designed masquerade mask. These two components serve as a full body armor capable of repelling energy and physical attacks. But defense is not all that it is good for. Just as with Clown Belt, Allen can control how solid, thick, sharp and long it can be. As such it can also be used as a hidden weapon. In addition Allen can shoot out multiple Clown Belts from it for an added surprise. I've been mentioning Clown Belt for a while now. It is only fitting it will be specified next.

The Clown Belt:

It is pretty much exactly what it says. Only with so much more kick to it. It is a tendril of the same material that Allen's cape is made of. It can be used as a whip, a spear or spike, or a tool to grab things or even his enemies. It can also be used as a rope. As such it can be used for rappelling and swinging. Allen has shown the ability to freely control the length, thickness, hardness and sharpness of this weapon. It can be fired from both Allen's right hand glove and sleeve as well as his cape and cowl. When fired from his cape, he can use multiple of the tendrils for a deadly porcupine effect, as well as using it to bind one or more troublesome foes. There is another use for Clown Belt however it is a quite disturbing one and it truly reflects Allen's tenacity and willpower. He can wrap the Clown Belt around his own body and operate it like a puppet so as to continue fighting. He can also detach the Clown Belt from himself, but he loses control over it so it is basically reduced to something akin to a normal rope at that time.

Cross Grave: Much more powerful than its previous iteration, Allen can crucify targets simply by etching a cross upon them with his left hand. The stronger the target the lesser damage it takes. It can now also be used defensively since it can generate a shield by drawing a cross on the air.

Crown Edge: A projectile attack which unleashes a barrage of crown-shaped rings from the clawed fingers on Allen's left hand. It has medium to long range and is usually used to either flush out invisible enemies or just take out large numbers of foes.

Edge End: A swipe of raw destructive power from his activated claw, capable of tearing up steel and concrete alike.

Sword of Exorcism:

When Allen's synchronization ratio exceeded 100%, he became able to transmute his entire left arm into an exquisite broadsword with a large cross emblazoned on the side the blade. While in this mode, his left shoulder is capped with a cross-shaped emblem, and his cowl usually extends the cape to cover the missing arm. Once invoked, the blade can exorcise evil from any vessel it strikes without any harm to the vessel itself. The effectiveness depends on how strong the entity being exorcised is. Sadly the only active use of this ability backfired terribly and caused Tyki's Noah to take over the host completely. It can still be used to effectively destroy weaker entities and creatures like the AKUMA. Allen also has shown the ability to telepathically recall the Sword to himself, should it be thrown out of his hand. (Yes think of what Luke Skywalker did with his lightsaber in the ice cave.)

Death Ball: When using the Sword of Exorcism, Allen can create an explosion which he names Death Ball. This is an area of effect attack meant to decimate masses of low level enemies in one blow.

Energy Arc: When using the Sword of Exorcism, Allen can release an arc of energy at his target. The range is medium on this attack.

In addition, his Innocence has shown the ability to act of it's own accord if it decides something near it, is an enemy. This has most recently come into play as it attacked the mutated Third Exorcist, Tokusa despite Allen's intention. Also being a parasitic type Innocence wielder has boosted his immune system so poisons and viruses don't work on him or the effects take longer to manifest before healing quickly.

The Curse

Resembling a sort of cogwheel monocle, Allen’s most recent cursed eye enables him to pinpoint an AKUMA's position even when they are not visible to the naked eye, regardless of obstacles, from a distance of up to 300 meters away. But the most astounding change is that others close to Allen are able to see the lost souls trapped within AKUMA as well. After witnessing Allen's 'world of black and white', Lavi commented that the world Allen sees 'is like hell on earth'. However, the cursed eye appears to lust for the destruction of AKUMA, often causing pain to Allen sometimes in the middle of the night by self-activating, as though "it is a sin to be sleeping instead of destroying AKUMA". In Panfandom RP's it would likely react to any dark entities or powerful abilities. The stronger they are the more strongly his eye will react and pain him.

□ Personal Items:

* - One clown Costume which he will wear on arrival.

* - His Exorcist Uniform.

* - A brown trench-coat

* - A set of juggling balls. He was in the middle of performing after all.

* - A deck of playing cards for Poker.

□ First Person Sample:

This has to be some kind of mistake!

[Does he sound shaken up? Good. Because he’s seen something that cannot be unseen.]

T-That was- Those people they were-

[He can’t even bring himself to say it. It didn’t even happen in a brothel. If it had he wouldn’t have seen it in passing. He wouldn’t be standing there with his face the color of a tomato as he tries to understand how that could possibly happen. Were modern times that much more different than his own timeframe?]

Do people do that often around here?! I mean in the middle of an alley? I thought- Oh god I thought she was being mugged by someone. But she wasn’t! She and that man were together there and they were-

[Having the truth revealed in such a shocking manner is not something Allen can cope with right away.]

No. No I’m sure there was a perfectly reasonable- Oh what am I saying?! Of course there isn’t! This is insane!

[Wait...]

Why am I even making this into a message!? Forget I said anything.! Just put it out of your mind!

[His tone while shaky seems to promise certain consequences if anyone decides to poke and prod at him for more details. His lips are bloody sealed and he’s keeping them that way while also filing away the events to the darkest corners of his mind.]

I-I’m sorry i took up your time. Just ignore whatever I said. It was on a spur of the moment.

[He quickly turns off the feed afterwards and locks himself into the apartment for the next 24 hours as he processes just what the hell happened. Or proceeds to lock the memory away for all time. Or until the next time he runs into such a situation.]

□ Third Person Sample:

Welcome to the City of Ariel. Those words carried such finality that they still echoed in Allen's head as he stumbled out the doors and into the city. He didn't feel any real difference at first so had he not been told about the microchip Allen would have thought nothing was out of the ordinary.

“I’m starting to get really tired of having things put in my body that weren’t there from the start.” he said under his breath as he walked towards the exit. The Innocence, the 14th Noah, and now this microchip. This tiny machine that felt weightless was now somewhere in his head. The thought was unsettling. His experience with technology wasn’t all that positive thanks to a certain supervisor and his robot construction fetish. He didn’t know what to make of this new addition though. In some ways it was just as mysterious as Neah. Allen hadn’t been awake when it was implanted nor was he shown any kind of picture of the chip in question. Well at the very least it would not try to take over his body. That was one thing going in the device’s favor. Or so he hoped. Then again if it was going to try and take his body away from him, then it would have to battle it out with Neah since the Noah would probably not relinquish his precious host.

He must have been going crazy if he was thinking the Noah was his ally in this mess of a situation. Being overridden by either of the two was a bad outcome! He was Allen Walker. Nothing more and nothing else. Just Allen. And no chip or ghost of the Noah was going to take that away from him! While steadfast that declaration did bring up one question he had yet to answer.

Why? He didn’t know anything about Neah. Only that he was Mana’s brother and that he had betrayed the Earl in some way that warranted them to be hunted by AKUMA and the rest of the Noah Clan. And then at some point he’d gotten himself killed and chose him as the host. What did he fight for? What made him go so far as to try and outrun death itself like this? Or more importantly, what was so important about him that the guardian of the Heart would risk coming after him like that. What was so dangerous about him that warranted the death of his master simply because of being associated with that man? So many questions and no answers. It would be enough to drive anyone insane.

But Allen wasn’t going to just lie down and wait for the inevitable end. Even if this place was a whole different world, the threat from within was still there. Whatever Neah’s reason was, Allen was not going to surrender his body to him. Not without a fight. At the very least, here he wouldn’t be able to harm any of the people most important to him. So there was that angle at least. Which made his determination to go back to his world even more contradictory. In the end, maybe Tyki was right after all. He had no solid idea who or what he was and he just kept fumbling on blindly in the dark, hoping day after day that he would find some kind of answer to ground him in some way to his own identity. In retrospect of all of that, a small chip in his head was something less than trivial.

The chip in itself wasn’t something that was really of note at the moment anyway. It didn’t even make him feel any different except for the strange heat pooling inside of him. Even without that, he would have been initially too distracted by the modern buildings he could see all around him now. Still he had no time to really marvel and wonder at the modern cityscape piercing into the heavens all around him. Allen’s eyes were glued to the map he had been handed. That was not going to help much with his horrid sense of direction but it was a starting point.

“I wish Timcampy was here. He would’ve- No what am I saying? He’s probably just as lost as I am in this place. This isn’t the Ark or our world. And it’s not like I’d have anyone for him to find.” Allen muttered to himself, slapping his forehead with one hand and shaking his head clear of the ridiculous thought. He was alone and Timcampy had to be somewhere around here. At least that was what he thought since he didn’t know yet if there were any others from his world in this place. The possibility was comforting and concerning in equal measures. If it were up to him he would rather none of his friends were here. After all there was a war to be fought. Even if he himself kind of got chased out of it for the moment.

However he couldn’t help but yearn ever so faintly for the company of his friends. His ability to detach and not form bonds had fallen away completely since joining the Order and no matter how much he tried to shut himself off again, it would never go all the way. In a way it was self inflicted torture. However cutting ties for good was worse than torture. That would have left him truly alone and that was something he feared above all else.

As he walked off onto the street, he carefully thought back on everything he had been told. That this was an entirely different world was undeniable. Allen had traveled the world with his father and then later with his master and not once had he heard of a city the likes of Ariel. The fact that he had come here via a machine for dimensional travel was not something that shocked him for long either. After all he once commanded the Noah's arc which pretty much did the same thing only with more diversity.

He even had a plan to try and employ it’s use, a one time breach of his vow to never use the Ark again after leaving the Order. Hopefully it would work and even more hopefully, he would not run into any of the guards that would be stationed at the official gates leading to the various branches of the Order. It was a risk but if it got him back to his world, back where he could possibly make a difference eventually, it was more than worth the risk. He was part of a war he could not forgive himself for leaving. Even if it meant fighting alone. After all that was probably what Mana had meant all along. To keep on walking forward. To never stop. To never make bonds that would ever hold him in one place. It was too late for that though. Allen had made friends. Very important friends for whom he would fight and even die for.

Even so he also wanted to go back for the sake of the AKUMA as well. The poor unfortunate constructs of the Earl. Machines born of hate and love. A pitiful existence that should never have walked the Earth. Everyone sought to destroy them. Only he knew both of the sides of that metaphorical coin. Only he cared about both. Even if this doomed him in the eyes of both factions in this seemingly endless war.

While the Ark was indeed a option to consider, Allen didn’t want to risk it in the open. If these people found out he had a potential means of escape, they would most likely react accordingly to stop him. To say he didn’t trust the people he spoke with was an understatement. Perhaps he had grown more distrustful ever since the enemy within the Order, the murderer of his master had revealed itself. The betrayal of his own arm was also fresh in his mind but at least it seemed in this place, it had been rendered dormant. It no longer called ever so faintly to the monster hunting him through many cities. For that much he could be thankful but the price for this peace was too high.

This was a foreign land in ways that his imagination could not hope to encompass from the first day. The last thing he wanted was to get in trouble. At least not yet. Not while he had no information as to where he was and how the pieces were arranged on the chessboard. So for now he had no option but to go along - only on the surface - with what he had been told to do. Integrate in the Society

He wasn't fully convinced there was no way to return. It all felt awfully convenient but given his recent experiences, he had learned to keep such suspicions to himself lest he attracted the wrong kind of attention.

A lot of his naivety had been peeled away when he was forced to go on the run from the Apokryphos. In a way it had been like returning to his roots. Only now he had the skills and smarts to make his living in the world on his own. Something his younger self had aspired towards quite strongly before he met Mana.

Integrate into society. Little did he know that his meaning of that phrase was far different from that of the people who had ‘welcomed him’ to the city. Ignorance was truly a bliss. For now he imagined they meant he was to find a job and earn an honest wage. He would look into that as soon as he found his assigned domicile. No actually before any job hunting, he would have to track down Timcampy.

“Dammit Tim. I hope a cat didn’t eat you again. That would be the third time this week.” Allen said with a faint sigh. Still he had faith that the small creature would manage on his own until Allen tracked him down

The two of them were inseparable ever since they had been incarcerated together after his defiance in the North American Branch. He had a vague idea how he would search but it would require a pencil and a sheet of paper. As well as somehow figuring out how the video function of his chip would work. Why couldn’t they just give him a normal communicator device of sorts? Imagining that everything he saw with his eyes would be what others would see was something that made his head hurt a little when attempting to comprehend it.

Though he could see Komui being utterly fascinated with that kind of technology. Honestly the more he thought of those left behind, the stronger Allen’s desire to make his way back to his world would become.

Even if he would be unable to truly return to his home, at the very least he would have the comfort of still sharing the same world with them. Being here in this alien land made him feel isolated, cut off in a way that only accentuated the loneliness that had simmered at the back of his mind ever since the night he fled the Order.

Every time he remembered that night, the guilt would come crashing down on him anew. He knew how much Lenalee cared for those who comprised her definition of the world, he knew he was a part of that world. He just didn’t really know how big of a part. That was probably for the best. It would have made leaving that much harder

Still he couldn’t let himself linger on that for too long or else he would be unable to keep walking forward. For now he had to find his new domicile and get out of the clown costume since he felt uncomfortably hot, attributing that to his time spent inside the large baggy costume. After all he had never experienced this kind of arousal before. Sure he might have thought some girls looked cute at times. Mainly Lenalee but that would be a secret he would take to his grave. For a multitude of reasons. One of them involving a certain brother and an army of drill wielding machines of destruction. But such strong arousal unknowingly induced before he even became aware in this place was something beyond anything he’d experienced.

Even though he had spent a large chunk of his latest years going through brothels, delivering money to his master or ending up used as decoy whenever the loan sharks would track the masked man there, Allen had never been interested in such things. He found them repulsive and indecent. Naturally he was still young at the time but those years left such a strong impression on Allen that he had made a personal vow to never follow in his master’s footsteps. Not just in regards to womanizing but everything else as well. Except Gambling. That had become a means of survival and it was something so heavily ingrained into his person that it would be folly to even waste a moment trying to rectify it.

He closed his eyes to try and rearrange the thoughts in his mind. It was then that he heard what sounded like a strained cry coming from one of the alleyways. Allen paused for a moment and focused his attention on the alley to see if he could pick up the sound again. Sure enough he heard it again, this time even louder. Allen instinctively tried activating his claw but he quickly realized that was not possible no matter how hard he tried. He concluded that it must have been one of the side effects of the chip implant. After all even while rogue his arm still activated at his command whenever an AKUMA would get too close. Well that was going to make things trickier. He could still walk away. But Allen was not that type of person. If someone was in distress then he would help them. Some would say that he had a habit of sticking his nose in where it didn’t belong. And they would be right. But his heart was in the right place.

He stepped closer picking up a rusty pipe from one of the trash bins just in case there were more than a couple of people there. Usually muggings involved more than the victim and one attacker. The streets were an unforgiving place and it seemed this place was no different in that regard. Eventually he got right up to the corner leading into the opening between buildings. There he could make out the cries clearly however their frequency at that point had gotten to such a degree that he couldn’t help but feel something was off. Not to mention the tone of the cries was not right either. “Best scope this out first before jumping in there.” Allen muttered to himself to get him to move. For some odd reason he was very reluctant. Maybe deep down he knew what he would see if he dared poke his head over that corner.

A particularly keening cry shocked him into action and swallowing his misgivings he stuck his head over the corner.

Only to see a man in a business suit pinning what Allen could only presume was a secretary or co-worker of sorts against the wall next to the drainpipe of one of the buildings. The movements of their bodies said it all and all of a sudden he realized why he had been so reluctant to look around the corner in the first place. Those cries and now that he could hear them, those moans. They were familiar. he’d heard them so many times whenever he had to go fetch his master from a brothel he’d landed in. Immediately the heat building inside him rose to almost uncomfortable levels as he watched the man move with force and purpose against the woman whose legs were wrapped around his waist. Suddenly the woman warned her partner that she was close and after a few more short furious moments both of their cries echoed off of the walls surrounding them as they reached that pleasurable peak.

Allen immediately retreated back to the safety of his building corner realizing with shock what he’d just witnessed. Two people. Engaging in THAT kind of act out in the open like this. That was a level of debauchery above anything he’d seen from his master and that was saying something! Oh god was he really thinking that? Was there really something more depraved than that masked man? His breathing was shallow and his forehead was drenched in sweat both from his own heat as well as that of the moment he’d just witnessed. He...he had to get away. Allen quickly turned around and made a bolt for the main street where things were as he knew them. Well to some degree. He paused for a moment leaning against one of the lampposts to catch his breath and give his fluttering heart a chance to settle down.

That wasn’t something normal was it? No it couldn’t have been.. Those two were just that daring and into one another that they didn’t care where they did it. Yes that had to be it. The depravity was only with those two. Allen had to convince himself of that in order to not freak out even more. All of a sudden the goal of finding his new home became of the utmost priority. One thing was for sure, if he was going to hear any more of those cries that day, he wasn’t going follow them to the source. Tomorrow he might though. As soon as he would convince himself that this was only a rare one time occurrence.
